Ireland's biggest street party takes place each year on St Patrick's Day in Dublin. This year the theme for the parade of floats, pageants and street theatre groups will be "Glorious". The colourful festival also includes marching bands from Ireland, Europe, India, Africa and the USA.

Chichen Itza Equinox
The ancient Mayan stone masons built and aligned the great pyramid at Chichen Itza centuries ago in such a way that the sun's rays are transformed into a diamond-back rattlesnake of light and shadow twice a year. On the morning and evenings of the Equinox (March 20, 21 and September 21, 22) thousands flock to Chichen Itza to view the same dramatic display. For optimum viewing of the serpent of light, be near the great courtyard which faces the western facet of the Kukulkan Pyramid beginning at about four in the afternoon. The best viewing of the sight is from five days before until five days after Equinox.

Wine Harvest Festival, Mendoza
In January and February every year each of the eighty communities that make up the Province of Mendoza and who all have vineyards, wineries, or both, elects their own Harvest Queen. All of these goddesses of wine descend on the Provincial Capital (Mendoza city) in the first week of March and on the Saturday night South America´s most lavish and spectacular wine festival is celebrated in a natural Greek amphitheatre nestling amongst the low hills, inside the magnificent San Martín Park.
